Zoom Sessions

Zoom is a conferencing tool that can be used to create online learning environments for classes. Instructors can use Zoom to:

• Live-stream: Instructors can live-stream class sessions in real time
• Pre-record: Instructors can pre-record sessions to share with students later
• Teach face-to-face: Instructors can teach in a classroom and have students join remotely
• Record and share: Instructors can record sessions and share them through Canvas

Zoom can be used on a variety of devices, including desktops, tablets, smartphones, and desk phones.

Some tips for using Zoom in the classroom include:

• Promoting questions, comments, and reactions from students
• Using Breakout Rooms to divide students into smaller groups for discussion
• Having students present their work to the class
• Using Gallery View to create a classroom seating chart
• Using Multi-pinning view to select up to nine participants to pin
• Using Immersive View to select a unique background for the class environment
