Exit interview

The exit interview is designed to gather important feedback about the client's experience, progress, and any remaining concerns to ensure proper closure and future recommendations. It provides an opportunity for the client and clinician to review the treatment process, and the clinician may explain the next steps, such as follow-up care.

The purpose of the exit interview includes assessing progress and determining if the client's goals were met. During this interview, the clinician may provide guidance for ongoing support. If necessary, the clinician may recommend additional resources for the client after treatment.

Example 1:An exit interview may reveal that the client feels they’ve made significant progress but need further support in specific areas. The clinician might recommend community resources or self-help strategies to address these.

Example 2:During the exit interview, the client might express satisfaction with the treatment but identify one unresolved issue. The clinician could offer referrals to specialized services to help manage this concern.

Example 3:In an exit interview, the client may state that their goals have been fully met. The clinician would use this opportunity to celebrate the progress and suggest strategies for maintaining success independently.
